2012 Ramblings

I can not believe it is 2012 already. 2011 sure got away on me with all that was going on. I never got enough time here to write what I really wanted to. So I am going to try and summarize the year 2011.

Summary of 2011 as I can best recall it:
It was a super wet summer in 2011, our gardens did wonderful, I got 30 pounds of potatoes I ended up putting them in large containers, lots of carrots that we ate the last of on the 24 of March 2012, the tomatoes did amazing as well, I brought the cherry tomatoes indoors and were still eating them up to the beginning of December.
Katie and I spent most of our time preparing meals, cooking and doing laundry for the guys at the gold claim, it just seemed we would get home and unpacked to start the work week at our own business, then it was time to cook meals and prepare for the coming weekend to head back out to go to work at the claim. I love to be out in the fresh air. If only there was a way to operate the weekly business in the bush I would be a very happy camper. Would just need cell service and Internet.
The mining season was pretty good the guys worked on into November till things froze solid, they then packed up and headed home for the winter. They were the only miners in the area that worked that late. They were very pleased with themselves.
The winter of 2011 was very mild and not much snow till March then we were back to not being able to see the fence posts again.
Well that is the very shortened version of 2011.

Now on to 2012

I hope to be able to keep at least a weekly post going this year, fingers crossed and toes as well. :)

Rick and I were able to finally finish our new website for our business, I have been building 5 different blogs.
Our winter was not to bad this past year, enough snow cover to save all the plants and new trees I planted last year. I can not wait for the 2 feet of snow to disappear to see how everything thing faired over the winter.

The guys have been getting things fixed and cleaned up for the new Mining Season to start, we took a drive out to the claim on Sunday to see if the road had been plowed all the way and yipppppeeeee it was. There is only 2 feet of snow left out there, so with a few more modifications to Orville's loader they can head out during the day and work on the excavator and rust bucket. So once the snow is gone they can start the mining season all over again, for another year.

We actually got to go for our first bike ride last week, the shoulders on the road are bare enough, so bike bum here we come for a little while. The days are longer and the nights are warmer, as spring has sprung.

 Beautiful sunny days of spring!

We were able to put a plow on to Rick truck this winter sure made looking after the snow so much easier for him, after all he is over 50 now.

We are having an organic raw evening at our place this coming weekend, Ellen is going to do Reiki, I will be doing Ionic Cleanses and then we will all meditate, something some have not done before.
I will have pictures and recipes after the weekend.

Well I had better get back to work and get the orders ready to go out.
Until next time:
